Poor Baby Part 2

And this actually has nothing to do with any of my animals!

My poor husband is diabetic and 99% of the time, he takes really good care of himself.  However, as is par for the course with diabetics, he has issues with his feet.  About six weeks ago, he discovered another open wound on the bottom of his foot.  He immediately scheduled an appointment with his doctor and they started taking care of it.

The good news is, it has been healing.  The bad news?  It's taking forever.  So, his doctor sent him to a wound care specialist and they put a cast on his foot.  Yup, now his big foot is even bigger.  I feel so bad for him, but it's supposed to help keep the pressure off the wound so that it will heal.  Right now, we have no idea how long he'll have it on - he has to wait until he goes back next week.

To quote a certain friend of mine - poor fluffy butt!  LMFBO (that's laughing my fluffy butt off for those of you who don't know how my mind works yet)...

What a pain. We've been lucky in that Shawn hasn't had ant major injuries since being diagnosed.

Unfortunately, that's how he got diagnosed in the first place - by a nasty infection in his foot. Seems like this is his personal diabetic curse. LOL The worst part is - it's not like it was something big - it started out as just a tiny cut and is now about the size of a silver dollar. Ugh.
