Ladies and Gentlemen…

Montana!

LOL – that is an OLD joke, but still funny if you're on the 'in'.

But more seriously… I have created new characters for the first time in a long time. I mean, I've made new characters in the realm of the worlds I already write in, even ventured out and wrote a short story with a whole new premise, but this is something else all together. This could be a whole new saga. Well, it might should I ever actually develop a freaking plot…

Once I started back writing about Ali, I knew she'd overtake my life again. But that's okay – she's a part of me, and she helps me work out my anger, frustration, and sadness when no one else cares or is available. Blake, well, despite being a part of Ali's world now, he's a part of me too.

Dakotah and Sierra have become the same way for me. I've messed with that story for so many years now, that I think I know it as well as my own history. LOL

So, for me to step outside and start writing with a whole new world and set of characters is a big step for me. However, I think I'm going to like these two just as much as all those who have come before. Montana, aka Montie, is a rancher/farmer in a southern town somewhere. Probably Texas, since it's the only place down south I've lived, although I might move him west into Utah or Colorado, just to bring him a bit closer to home.

Colbie, however is a city girl and while not a big city city girl, she has her aspirations. I've not got her figured out quite yet, so she still may surprise me somewhere down the road. Heck, Montie may as well, although I think I know the kind of guy he is. Good-hearted glutton for punishment, methinks.

There are a few extraneous characters as well. Chuck is Montie's friend and confidante. He's a good ol' boy and should incite a bit of riot here and there. Colbie also has herself a man, as yet unnamed. Once I manage to introduce him into the story, he'll find his name and way. I don't think you're gonna like him though. *g*

So, is that enough babble for one day? Well, I may be back, so beware. Have I told you how much I enjoy the fact that Microsoft Word 2007 allows you to publish blog posts directly out of Word? How freaking cool is that?

Grammar and the Plumber

Written March 26, 2008 ~ when I had no computer…

Hmm… just was working on a service ticket and saw this: Repaired 6" roof drain which had been caught on fire. Okay, no biggie, that's why I'm here, to correct their bad grammar. What made me laugh was the fact that my BOSS had altered it to read like this: Repaired 6" roof drain that had been caught on fire.

So, I'm sitting here, LMAO over this. Um, dontcha think that if you fix ONE bit of grammar that you should fix it ALL?

Today is…

Make a list of things that make you feel happy day!

Okay, so although this day for every day is a bit stupid, this is a good idea. My list is as follows:

My family – while they have the distinct tendency to drive me NUTS, they do bring a smile to my face and cheer me when I’m miserable.

My animals – cats can be standoffish, but they are still fun and loving creatures. One in particular is quite the cuddler. LOL And my hamsters? They constantly make me smile. Curious, active little creatures they are.

My desk – now, this sounds really silly, but when you consider the fact that I went three weeks without one at work, well, I’m VERY happy every day when I sit down at my desk.

Summer days – yeah, I’m constantly told that I’m a nutcase for loving the hot, dry summer days we get here in the west, but yanno, I really don’t know any different. I love the feel of the heat on my skin, the tingling of the sun sharing it’s love and energy. What? It’s not hot. It’s barely 110º!

Good food – nothing better than a tummy full of good nosh. Nawm, nawm, nawm...

My online fiends – despite driving me as nutty as my family, they generally know just what I need.

Good books – nothing says escape like a good book!

Good music – music is my life and I absolutely could not live without it.

Writing – nothing can make me feel better quicker than getting it all out on paper. Whether it’s a letter to my best friend, a ranting blog, or a murderous bit of fluff, it’s my biggest outlet and the cheapest, quickest way to bring me back to where I need to be.

I know there are more things, but I really don’t wanna bore ya TOO much. LOL

Happy Day!

Oh No...

...and now there are TWO!

We had another girl join us today in class. THANKFULLY she is only there for today. She was damn near as bad as the other! So, all day today, I had one on each side of me! Oh mah gawd... I hate know-it-alls that really don't have a freaking clue!

*deeeeeep breaths*

But at least the classes are going well, I suppose that is all that matters. Anyway...

Damn, Jamie Oliver's a cuite pie...

There’s Always One

So, I’ve started my MAS 90 training. WAHOO. LOL It’s actually not been all that bad so far. Monday, Day #1, was a bit boring, but it was more on navigating through the program than actually doing anything, so that was to be expected. Tuesday, Day #2, was more interesting. Er, well, as interesting as entering things into a general ledger can be, I suppose.

The instructor is great, she’s friendly, fun, and tries to make it as exciting as possible. The other two members of the class seem to be pleasant enough. One’s from Colorado and the other is from Kansas. Interesting. However, there always has to be ONE, ya know?

And you know exactly what I mean. There were only three of us in the class I’ve been taking, and yet there was still that ONE. The one who always has a comment. The one who always has done whatever the teacher is discussing. The one who always has an issue. The one who… you get the idea. And it’s SO frustrating! “Oh, yeah, we do something like that although what we do is…” and then he proceeds to repeat back almost verbatim the directions the instructor has already given.

*sigh*

Well, Day #3 is due to start here soon… maybe he’ll get a clue today and shut the hell up.

Nah, I didn’t think so either, but a girl can dream, can’t she?

Aw, Man!

And to add insult to injury (see previous post) I just discovered my tonsils are abscessed.

F*ck.

I'm Soooooooo Confuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuused...

Okay, so I'm being promoted, yay me. I'm moving up from 'just' being the secretary to being the HR/Payroll/Accounting girl. Cool. Works for me.

Anyway, they started interviewing girls today. One was more qualified than the other, but the other was a little bit more like me, so Thé's thinking of hiring her. After a little deliberation amongst the brothers, they come to a decision. He comes out to me and says, "Well, I'm going to hire that second one. She's younger, less experienced, and more likely to be willing to do things our way." Makes sense, she's not had a job like this before so she doesn't already have her own 'system'.

THEN he tells me, "All I'm looking for is someone to answer the phones since you'll be still doing all you do now when you move in there (his dad's office, whose job I'm moving into)."

Um, come again? I'll be doing all THIS plus PAYROLL, and JOB COSTING, and EVERYTHING ELSE YOUR DAD ALREADY DOES????

Whatever.

And to make matters worse, I can't find my spoon. So, I had to eat my blueberry yogurt with a fork. Loooooooovely.

LMAO.
